Jamie Lee Komoroski video shows arrest aftermath

Newly released video shows Jamie Lee Komoroski talking casually with police after the DUI crash that killed bride Samantha Hutchinson on her wedding day in South Carolina. The footage captures the New Jersey woman, now 27, chatting about everything from pollen and allergies to cereal, ice cream, and a pet kitten after her arrest in Folly Beach.

Komoroski was sitting in handcuffs at the Folly Beach Police Department with her sports bra and midriff exposed when she began talking to officers just before midnight on April 28, 2023. At one point she complained that her allergies were bad and said the pollen was bothering her. She later asked officers what their favorite cereal was and shifted into a long stream of small talk about her family, her job, and her food preferences.

The video shows a sharp contrast between that chatter and the deadly crash that had just occurred. Komoroski struck Samantha and Aric Hutchinson while they were riding in a golf cart after their wedding. Samantha was killed instantly, and Aric was thrown from the cart. Two wedding guests were also hurt in the wreck.

Investigators said Komoroski was driving 65 mph in a 25 mph zone. She told police she had consumed one beer and one tequila drink before the crash, but her blood alcohol level later came back at more than three times the legal limit. In the body camera footage, she also begged officers to check on Samantha after the collision.
