Courtney Clenney Civil Case Closed Before Plea Deal

Courtney Clenney’s civil case tied to the killing of Christian Obumseli was formally closed days before her attorneys said she had reached a plea agreement in the criminal case. The former OnlyFans model is charged with second-degree murder in the April 3, 2022, stabbing death of Obumseli, who lived with her in a Miami apartment.

Clenney, 30, is expected back in court Monday, when the plea deal is set to be presented to the judge. Her lawyers have said the deal is not final unless the court accepts it. They also have not disclosed the terms. In the criminal case, Clenney has not denied causing Obumseli’s fatal injury, but she has said she acted in self-defense, telling investigators she threw a knife at him after he attacked her and that it struck him in the chest.

The civil fight began months after Clenney’s arrest in August 2022, when Obumseli’s family sued her and several companies connected to the couple’s apartment building. The lawsuit accused Clenney of battery and said the condominium, property-management and security defendants failed to provide enough protection despite what the estate described as warning signs that made the attack foreseeable. Court records reviewed by Fox News Digital show that Clenney resolved the claims against her well before the criminal plea became public.
