In Kyiv, Mayor Vitaly Klitchko said emergency crews were also battling fires at a building and a fuel tank. Ukraine’s state emergency service, DSNS, posted photos showing garages, a business and another building on fire, and said the number of victims was still being clarified.
The latest barrage landed as President Volodymyr Zelensky travelled to Belgrade for his first visit to Serbia. He is expected to meet Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić to discuss economic ties, security issues and relations with the European Union. Zelensky is working to widen support for Ukraine, while Vučić has declined to impose sanctions on Russia.
Serbia is seeking to join the European Union and has sent aid to Ukraine, while also promising help with postwar rebuilding. Zelensky’s trip adds another diplomatic layer to a conflict that has spread far beyond the battlefield, with Ukraine pressing partners for stronger backing as Russian strikes continue to target cities and infrastructure.
